Avengers: Infinity WarA new Super Bowl trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was released during the event on Monday morning, and it teases what appears to be one of the biggest movies ever made. A 30-second spot during the Super Bowl comes with a reported price tag of $5 million.
And in just 30 seconds Marvel delivered for its audience exactly what they would’ve wanted — epic action, their favourite superheroes quipping, fighting and teaming up, and Marvel’s most formidable villain yet: Thanos.
They’ve been teasing his arrival for several years now, ever since the second Avengers film. And like the first Infinity War trailer, his presence is ominous.
To sort out the issue of showing over 40 superheroes in one movie, and giving each of them an arc they deserve, directors Joe & Anthony Russo seem to have separated storylines. A bearded Captain America is in Wakanda with Black Panther, Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy are in outer space, and Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man are handling things on Earth.
Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd and Tom Hiddleston. It is scheduled for a May 4 release.
