IPL 2019 is set to begin on March 23 and it is scheduled to take place in India.
The date for the final hasn’t be decided just yet and the tournament will clash with India’s federal elections.
“Based on the preliminary discussions with the appropriate central and state agencies/authorities, it was decided that the 12th edition of the world’s most popular and competitive T20 tournament will be scheduled to be played in India,” the BCCI said in a release.
Cricbuzz understands that the tournament may not be played on the usual home-away basis, and might take place in a ‘caravan format’, which means that an entire set of games could be moved from one city to a different venue when election dates clash.
After the election dates are released, the venues and dates of the IPL matches will be fixed.
